While browsing the internets one day, I came across a list of old Looney Tunes cartoons that were banned because of a bunch of pissed off hippies and Black Panthers in the 60s. I can't imagine why. A few of these were recently screen at the Egyptian Theater in LA to gauge audience interest, as the studios are considering a DVD release. Enjoy.

If there's one thing Childrens cartoons loved more than racism, it was WWII propaganda. Even with all the Jazz and big lips, they still managed to take a swipe at the Japanese.
All This and Rabbit Stew (1941)
Five years before Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny was outsmarting another moron. But this one was considered racist just because he was black. And had big lips. And loved craps. And had big feet? I never knew blacks had big feet before watching these. The stereotypes you learn...
Hittin' the Trail for Hallelujah Land (1931)
This one follows the story of pig who totally isn't ripped off of Disney. At all. Anyways, Mickey the Pig and his girlfriend are jivin' on a steamboat, but then Uncle Tom runs into a bunch of white folks who want to lynch him. Then a guy in a mustache tries to rape Mickey's girlfriend. Perpetuates such stereotypes as blacks are good at dancing, can't swim, and have mustaches.
Sunday Go To Meetin' Time (1936)
See, this one depicts a black preacher, a black judge, and even a black angel. They just show one bad apple goin' round raisin' dickens. The only bad thing I can find in this is that Mamy's Barbecue Pit apparently has a monopoly on the entire city. Way to discourage free enterprise, Merry Melodies.
Clean Pastures (1937)
You gotta hand it to these guys, they sure as heck aren't speciesists. I mean, they've got a monkey in heaven alongside people, playing the trumpet and everything...
Wait a minute...
Holy Shit, that's supposed to be a person?
Wow. Just... Wow.
Uncle Tom's Bungalow (1937)
WB (1937-06-05) Uncle Tom's Bungalow - MM (Tex Avery)

As someone who never read Uncle Tom's Cabin, I can honestly say I have no idea what's going on here. All I see is a little black girl and a little white girl who are best friends, and a vilified white man in a mustache. Racism.
To Be Continued...
